To connect the PC using a wired connection to the internet you will need to have an Ethernet cable. I hope the network that you are on has network ports that will be used when  you need to connect the Ethernet cable to the computer. So you will need to get the Ethernet cable and then plug it into the network port, and the other end of the cable should be plugged in the network port of the computer.

Once you have done that, you will need to configure the IP addresses. Unlike the wireless network that can establish a connection automatically, the cabled connection needs that you manually allocate the IP address, the subnet mask, the gateway and DNS server settings to be used not unless you are using DHCP connection.

You can connect your PC with wire by using ethernet cable long enough to reach both your "Netgear ADSL wireless router" and "PC".  Just plug in the ethernet cable in the ethernet port, which is present at the back of your device, there are 4 ethernet ports available so you can connect other system with a wire if needed. Use a CAT5 standard cable for normal use and a CAT5-E cable for gigabit functionality, if your just connecting to the internet then simple CAT5 will do the job.
As for the router you should place it a high place so its signals could be better distributed.
