I have tried to play some old games on my laptop by using Virtual Box in which windows-95 is guest OS. I have installed some games like Dave and prince on it (in Guest OS) but when I run them ,it shows error. Is there any way to play DOS games on modern pcs/laptops other than Virtual Box or is there a way to  run them in Virtual Box. Suggest solution please.

I’m not sure if you still need to run Microsoft Windows 95 on VirtualBox if you only want to play old DOS games. In Microsoft Windows 7, you can install a DOS emulator that will allow you to play any DOS-based PC games. To fix your problem with DOS games, download and install DOSBox 0.74 for Windows.

It should work on any Microsoft Windows operating system. I’ve been using it for quite some time now and I haven’t encountered a problem yet regarding playing a DOS game. The only thing that matters to play a game smoothly is your installed devices. The smoothness of the game will depend on your hardware since it is an emulator.

The emulator will definitely run even on 1 GHz processor but you have to configure the emulator to play a game smoothly. Just read the supporting documents or manuals to learn how to configure it.
