Unable to locate Digidesign Hardware

Hi Tech Pro,

When I try to start the Pro Tools LE version 8, I got this error message. I tried with different drivers’ installation from the website, nothing worked. I googled, figured some solutions and tried some. I checked whether the interface is directly connected to the port and also tried to connect it to a different port. Someone could help me to solve this error? Thanks for your help.

Unable to locate Digidesign Hardware

Hello,

This problem is a very troublesome one, no doubt. As it can’t locate the hardware, you have to fix it through a hard way.

1. Go to Start menu >> right-click on “My Computer” >> Properties.

2. From “Hardware” menu, select “Device Manager”.

3. Expand “Usb Audio Device”section by clicking “+” on left side.

4. There might be a driver with the symbol of “!”. Now do the following:

  • Right-click on the “Mbox 2” and select “Update Driver”.
  • Select “No, not this time” >> Next.
  • Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)” >> Next.
  • Select “Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install” >> Next.
  • Now, just select “Digidesign Mbox 2” driver. There might be drivers in other name but will be with the name of “Digidesign Mbox 2”. Click “Next”.
  • A warning message will come out. Just press “Continue Anyway”.
  • Click “Finish”.

There are also many other ways described in this blog. Check those out too.
