I want to install OS X 10.5 on my PowerBook G4 but I cannot boot the OS X installation disk in my DVD drive. But I can be able to boot it with my Debian Etch but unable to install. I cannot even start in target disk mode. What should I do next?

Help please.

Unable to boot OS X CD with PowerBook

Hello there,

The problem that has occurred in your system is a pretty crucial one to fix or in other words very irritating to handle. So any way, if you think your having trouble with your DVD drive and can not use it to run the OS X installation cd, then I strongly suggest you to change your current DVD drive and replace it with a new one.

After that, if you still can not run the installation disk, try copying all the files from the cd to a pendrive from another pc and plug it in your system. Try running the installation process from here now and apply the installation key that you received with your OS X installation cd. Now this definitely should run, my friend had a problem like this and this method solved his problems.

Good luck.
