Unable to allocate 8GB partition in Hard Disk running with Windows 7

Hi experts,

I found an unallocated 8 GB partition in my Hard Disk. At present, my new SSD is running with Windows 7. I wanted to allocate it with the required software, but it failed with an error message “I/O device error”. Please see the screenshot.

Then, I installed Windows 7 again, but still, it remains as earlier. Presently, my SSD is running on SATA2 with Asus P5Q Deluxe Motherboard & Q6600 and another 2extra wd caviar black hard disk.

Please help me to get rid of this.

Thanks a bunch.

Hello.

I have a solution to your problem.

Try the following steps.

1.       Press windows + r keys simultaneously to open run.

2.       In the run type diskmgmt.msc

3.       A new window appears in which all the details of your hard disk partition are available.

4.       Select the 8 gb unallocated partition and right click on that.

5.       After right clicking select allocate drive letter and select a letter then click ok.

Thank you.
