I'm having a problem with Ubuntu 14.04. I downloaded Ubuntu from its official site and burned all files to a disk. When I try to boot my PC using the disk, I get the error:

“Failed to load COM32 file menu.c32”

How can I fix this error? Don't suggest me to download a new copy of the OS.

Ubuntu Live Is Not Booting: Falied To Load

Hello,

There might be problem with the ISO you downloaded, the way while creating the bootable media. It’s the best thing to start things from the starting.

First of all, download the latest Ubuntu LTS ISO. Download Ubuntu. Make sure that the file downloaded is perfectly downloaded. To do so, if on Windows, use HashCheck or checksum; if on Linux, learn how to check checksum. The MD5 checksums of Ubuntu installation ISOs can be found here.

Then, if you’re on Windows, use Universal USB Installer to create a bootable USB. If you’re on any Linux distribution, then use UNetbootin.

Now, your USB flash drive is ready to be booted. This error is mostly of corruption of downloading or extracting files from the ISO image.

If still not able to fix it, try copying “menu.c32” file into the root directory of the installation media.
