Hello and Good day!

I have a little problem which i know you could help me. Please guide me this. One of our users still uses Window XP program and she’s getting a new computer next week.

How do we move her email to Windows 7 if she's using Outlook 2003? Is there any conflict or just let it be. Thank you…

Hi Izdor,

This is a very possible operation which can be done in a straight forward and simple manner. To start with you have to note that Outlook Express is part of Windows XP so you need not go through the installation process. To get to do this follow this simple and straight forward step:

1. Start Outlook's import the PST file then close Outlook.

2. Start Outlook Express import message from Outlook then close the Outlook Express.

3. Copy the Outlook Express storage folder to Windows 7. To establish its location click tools then options then go to maintenance then storage folder.

4. Start your window live mail then import messages from Outlook Express storage folder.

This should be able to pick all accounts.

Hi user

There is a way to save your emails in a file called personnel folders file which has the extension .pst. Afterwards you can back it up in a flash drive or cd. Here's how to do it

  1. In the File menu click on import and export
  2. Select Export to a file and click next
  3. Now select Personnel folders file (.pst) and click next
  4. Select the folders you want to backup and save it is a directory and click Finish.

Thats it. MS Outlook is compatible with windows 7 so that you have nothing to worry about.
