Things to keep in mind while editing Windows Registry

The windows registry is a database of settings and changing those settings may have serious effects if done with little knowledge. So first you have to create a backup.

Making a registry backup:

• Press win + R to open the Run Now type “regedit” and press Enter.

• The Computer icon on the left pane will appear. Click it and click Choose a location and name for the backup.
• Click

 The registry contains two basic elements i.e. , keys and values.

Editing the registry:

• Press control + F and open Find and type in the key name and click Find Next.

 

• Edit the key value and click OK.

 To restore a registry backup:

• From the Registry Editor click File and click Import.
• Now open the backup file saved earlier.
