The term “Following” on Facebook

Hi all, So I am new to Facebook and I don’t know much about it. I sent a request to a few people I know and so far they haven’t accepted the request. When I click on their profile and their profile page opens, I see a box which says “Following” and a check mark to it as well. What does this mean? Please tell!

The term “Following” on Facebook

Hello Allen!

If you selected and clicked the option to “Follow” you’ll see all their posts in your daily News Feed. You can follow their timeline. Any updated that they will post will appear and you can just see them right away. Facebook users that are noted to have a huge count of followers most of them are celebrities.

You can allow any friends to “Follow” you by adjusting some settings in your Facebook account. You can do this by “Settings” >> Click “Followers” in the left column >> Choose “Everybody” who can follow you.
