I am having an issue with my tableau database software. It is giving an error message which says it can not communicate with the database. How can i get rid of this error? Thank you.

It seems that your application was unable to access the server where it supposed to connect. If this is the first time that this happens, try restarting your computer then try it again.

See if there is a change and the program can connect after a reboot. You also need to check the computer’s network cable attached at the back of the CPU if it is properly connected.

Try disconnecting it then connect it back. You should also check the configuration of the program. This problem is probably caused by an incorrect server address specified in its settings or an incorrect username or password maybe to access the resources.

I tried checking its official website but I’m not sure which of their products you are using since they have several applications like Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, Tableau Digital, Tableau Public, and Tableau Reader.

Since this is the case, just try reinstalling the program to fix any corrupted files that might be present in the system. Uninstall your Tableau application then restart your machine when asked.

After booting, check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. Install the program again then check if this fixes the problem.

You may also try upgrading your present version of the program if you happen to be using an older one. Visit tableau SOFTWARE to download the latest version.
