If you want to disable the Windows Task Manager, it is possible and it is easy to do. Click “Start,” “All Programs,” “Accessories” then right-click “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator” to start an elevated command prompt. In the command prompt window, type without quotes “gpedit.msc” then hit Enter. This launches the Group Policy editor.

In the Group Policy window, expand “User Configuration,” “Administrative Templates,” “System,” and select “Ctrl+Alt+Del Options.”

Select Ctrl+Alt+Del Options

On the right pane, select “Remove Task Manager” and click “Properties.” In “Setting” tab, select “Enabled” then click “OK.”

Enable Remove Task Manager

And that’s it. The Windows Task Manager is now disabled. When this setting is enabled and users try to start the Task Manager, they will be prompted with a message saying a policy prevented the action.
