Just this morning while playing my favorite Football Manager 2012, it suddenly stopped and throws an “A serious error was encountered and the application will close”.  It automatically close and when I try to open it again, nothing happens. I searched online and found out that this may be due to Steam error. How can I correct it? I need help.

Load Steam

Go library,

Select Football Manager 2012
Right click & go to properties.
Click on the Local Files tab
Click on prove reliability of Game Cache.

Steam will after that go from side to side your Football Manager file & get rid of, subsequently, replace, everything that requirements to be. I had seven files that desired replacing.

Steam will then reinstall the game with the files replaced.

Option 2

Authenticate that the game cache in Steam to determine this fault. For the said purpose, right-click on the game, choose properties, pick the local files tab, click confirm reliability of game cache. If the problem not determined, Erase Local Content and re-install.
