I have been using SoundMax for managing my multimedia files but I just noticed that the control panel icon is missing. I remember doing a system virus scan before it disappeared. How do I get my SoundMax Control Panel icon back? I'm on Windows Vista.

Try to check in your program files located in the C drive of My Computer. Find the Soundmax software and drivers. The listing of Soundmax presumably will include a .exe file from the control panel. Right click the file and Create shortcut. After that drag it on the desk > right click and if necessary rename to soundmax control panel or whatever you want.
If this method will not be functional or the problem will not be solved by this solution just uninstall the software and install it again if it's ok with you.
