Hi,

I'm just wondering why yahoo.com is not working on my browser. Every time I enter yahoo.com in my browser it is taking too long to respond and then the screenshot below will come up. My computer is not protected by a firewall, and my internet connection is doing well. In fact, I can open any other sites like google.com, wikipedia.com and more except yahoo.

This happened 3 days ago, and I thought that yahoo is just busy or unavailable but now I am really aware on  what's going on because it still showing the same thing 3 days ago. I also tried refreshing again and again, but same thing happened. What should be the problem and how can I fix this?

Please help me. Thanks.

The connection has timed out

• The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
• If you are unable to load any pages. check your computers network connection.
• if your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firetox is permitted to access the Web.
Try Again

This may be a problem with the DNS server being used by your modem/network/ISP or the website may be labeled as untrusted by your internet browser.

Try adding https://in.yahoo.com/?p=us in your Trusted Sites list in your internet options. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools then click on Internet Options. Go to the Security tab. Double click on Trusted sites, uncheck Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone. Enter www.yahoo.com in the box then click Add. Click Ok and click Ok on the main Internet Options window.

Try using an alternate DNS address. Go to the Control Panel and open Network Connections. Right click on connection that you’re using and choose Properties. Double click on Internet Protocol (or Internet Protocol version 4). It would open a window. Click on Use the following DNS server address. In the Primary set of boxes, enter 4.2.2.1. In the Alternate set of boxes, enter 4.2.2.2. Click Ok and click on again on the main properties box.

Hi Lestersmith,

Sometimes the server of a certain website may be down, and that could be a possible cause of the problem (of the web pages being slow to load).

Another cause may be either your internet connection status is too slow, but this you have that it is working properly. Or maybe you could be using some proxy settings in your browser which pose some surfing restriction to yahoo. You can check the proxies by going to tools in the browser menu and then internet options. See if the proxies have some configuration that may be causing the problem.

Hope this helps.
