Hi. Since most of my data is stored on my USB, I need to think of ways to make it more secure maybe by putting a password for unlocking it. How to password protect a flash drive? Also, how can I remove the password as and when needed? Please reply ASAP. Thanks in advance.

Secure Your Drive By Learning How To Password Protect A Flash Drive

Hi. To learn how to password protect a flash drive, plug-in the USB which needs to be made secure and then right-click on it and turn on the Bitlocker. After this, select the option of using a password to unlock the drive. Next, type the password you want to set and then click on next. After you are asked in what way you want to recover the keys, choose if the drive is new or is in use already and click on next. Following this, choose the disk space which needs to be encrypted and towards the end, start encrypting.

Next time, whenever the USB is plugged-in and the password is required, you need to enter it to unlock the drive. If this encryption needs to be turned off, click on start, go to control panel, click on security and select the BitLocker drive encryption. Select the volume wherein the encryption is to be turned off and turn off the BitLocker drive encryption. Then, either disable the encryption or decrypt the volume from the dialog box which appears.

Hope we helped.
