It’s kind of confusing. I’m not sure why you want to upgrade or update your hard drive’s firmware which sometimes corrupts the contents of the whole drive.

This is not advisable most especially if you are a beginner and your hard drive is working perfectly well. Do this only if you are experiencing something odd or different from your hard drive.

If it failed on your first attempt, try restarting your machine then try it again. Be sure you are pointing your upgrade to the right physical drive to avoid any unwanted and unexpected damage.

If your computer has two [2] hard drives in it and the application you are using is presently installed on Windows’ system drive, drive C, uninstall it then install it back on the second physical drive for better compatibility.

But if your computer has only one [1] physical hard drive, create a second partition to make it drive D then install the utility there. Try doing it again after this then see if it works.
