Safari Display Becomes Distorted Intermittently

HI Techyv,

I am using a MacBook 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard).

There are times that Safari suddenly is being distorted after some time of use.

This usually happens when I have multiple tabs open and I click to go to another tab. Neither Safari nor the OS freezes since I can very well navigate in Safari when it happens – the window just has a distorted image.

What is wrong with my Safari and how can I remedy it?

I am running on Version 5.1 6534.50. I am unable to post an image of it since its intermittent.

I will do whenever it happens again.

Safari Display Becomes Distorted Intermittently

Hi,

First solution for your problem is resetting PMU. You can do it simply by removing all the cable connected to your computer, that includes: power cable, keyboard and mouse (if using an external keyboard and mouse), other devices plugged in the computer. If you have the MacBook with removable Battery, please disconnect that too as we don't want any power running in the computer.

Once everything is disconnected, press and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds. You will not see anything happen in the computer as it only drains out all the power from the logic board.

After doing so, connect all the cables back to where it was before.

Take note, right after you press the power button to turn it back on,  press and hold down COMMAND – OPTION – P – R.

All keys at the same time and wait for the third chime before you let go of the keys.

Once everything is done, run safari and that should resolve the issue.

Hope this helps
