I just re-installed Windows XP recently. I have a Desktop Manager in my machine. When I tried to update it, I got this error, “device has not much space”. Now that I already free some space and I have unchecked the application, the issue is still the same. I want to download the new software. How can I restore Desktop Manager? Please help.

That is an issue with the space that you have on the primary hard drive partition. It is possibly running out of space, and therefore you will need to create some more space on the primary hard drive partition for the update to be done successfully. When you do an update, some new files are downloaded and stored on the computer, and therefore if you do not have space such a problem will arise.

Do the following to create some space on the primary hard drive partition:

  • Delete any files that you are not using on that partition.
  • If there are any programs that you have installed and you are not using them right now, then you will need to remove them to create some more space.
  • Run the disk cleanup utility to remove unused files.

Once you have done that, the update should run without problems.
