A month ago, I have a database running in Archivelog mode. Just last week, I added a data file to my database. I have inserted different objects on the data file. I did not create any backup for this data file. So when it was damaged, I don’t know what to do next. How can I recover it without my backups?

You can try recovering your damaged file with the following:

  1. Use the Windows Disk Utility. Open My Computer and right click on the drive. Select Properties and then Tools. Check the Error-checking “Check Now” option. Click both available options and click Start.
  2. You can also utilize the System Restore tool after an installation or accidental disk format. A feature of Windows XP and Millennium, it rolls system files back to an earlier state when everything worked.
  3. Also, use Partition Recovery or HDD Regenerator to recover or fix lost top-level folders that contain many file types. You can also utilize FAT Recovery or NTFS Recovery if you are not certain of your file type.
