The “Family Tree Maker” software is not free software. It is a commercial software with no provided trial version. If you are installing it when this error happened, check your internet connection. Open your web browser and visit a website then try clicking some links. Verify that your internet connection is working.

If there’s a problem, try disconnecting the network cable from the network port then plug it back in. If this doesn’t work, disconnect the other end of the cable from the Wi-Fi router then connect it back. If this doesn’t work, restart the router. If the router has a power button, press it to turn it off then unplug it from the power for about twenty (20) seconds.

Press any button on the router to discharge any leftover power or to power cycle. After this, plug the router back to the power and turn it on. If you are installing the latest version, check the system requirements and verify that your computer meets those requirements. The latest version at the moment, Family Tree Maker 2019, supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.

It requires 2 GB RAM, 900 MB free space, and 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution. If you have a valid license, try downloading the installer again. For more information or to purchase a new version, go to the Family Tree Maker home page.
