Please tell me how to resolve my slow computer response time

I'm having a hard time determining why my computer is running slow. It ran Norton Antivirus to identify if a virus has affected my computer and the results came back fine.

I performed a disk clean up and a disk defragment as well however, when multiple Internet sessions are open the computer continues to run slow.

I have also added additional memory to my hard drive as well.

Currently I am at a lost as to what I can do to expedite my PC slow response time.

Please advise.

The slowness or lagging of your computer can be attributed to numerous programs running in the background of your computer like Norton Antivirus which is very heavy in using RAM and known to slow down computers that it is installed in. One way of speeding up your computer would be to close those programs that are running in the background of your computer.

The viewing and closing of those backgrounds can be done through the use of the Task Manager. To access the Task Manager simply press Ctrl+Alt+Delete or by right clicking on your task bar and selecting Task Manager.

Hi,

Check your computer specification if it can handle the requirements of your antivirus. Norton antivirus can cover a big amount of RAM usage. Try to check also the compatibility of your Operating system with your antivirus. It may affect that much if they are not match. To handle this problem, you may use Avira or any other antivirus that could help to fasten your computer.

You could also create a start up batch file or registry file which will help also cutting the ratio of RAM usage that depends on your operating system.
