I have plan in  buying a BIOSTAR TA790GXE 128.5.x motherboard.  Before I buy it, I would appreciate your advice if this supported a computer that already has two DDR2 800 RAM and an AMD Phenom II X4 Processor.

Hi Amanda,

I hope this answer is still relevant considering the amount of time that has elapsed but on the chance that you are still interested to find out I shall be happy assist you.

First of all if you have the newest AMD Phenom II X4 CPU the motherboard should not have any problems detecting your CPU as stated on the CPU Support list on the Biostar site. But if in doubt you can always check to see if your CPU is supported. Go to this site http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=408 and click CPU Support and check if your CPU model is there. Same goes for your RAM.

Check the attached picture for instructions.

Have a good day!

Phillip John
