I have downloaded flash video files from the internet to play on my mobile.

So I then transferred them to my phone which is on android OS 2.3.

But I cannot recognize the files and play them on the built in player. Should I download a new player?

First of all just try to reboot your device this could resolve the problem in many cases.

If you still have problems playing flash videos, some of the best Android based flash players are :

RockPlayer which has a light version that is free to download

and arcMedia Pro which is unfortunately no more free.

both are available from Android Market and are compatible with multiple different video and audio formats.

For devices running Android 2.2 and newer versions there is now an official « Adobe Flash Player » available for free on the Android Market !

If you have access to your video files on a computer, an other solution would be to convert them to any format supported by your device. Here are three free video converters I could suggest :

FormatFactory ( windows only)

Download Link1

HandBrake ( windows, Mac and Linux )

Download Link2

AVCLabs Free Video Converter ( windows and Mac )

Download Link3
