Hi there experts! I have recently been informed by the thunderbird app that a new update is available. I tried to update it but it failed every time the process got close to 50%, so I tried to download manually and install after uninstalling the previous version and now I can not install it. The file shows a corrupted message. I use a Windows 8 OS. Please suggest possible solutions to solve this problem.

Setting it up of Mozilla Thunderbird in Windows 7 and Windows 8 is almost similar to Windows Vista and Windows XP.Â
A lot of users are facing problem while getting Thunderbird to work on Windows. To avoid any errors try running the program in Windows XP SP2 Compatibility mode.Â
Please follow the below steps in sequence:

First ensure that there is no program with incomplete installation related to Thunderboard. Check this though Program files in control panel.

Then start setting up the Firefox browser and ensure that it is working fine on windows 8.Â

Then download Mozilla Thunderbird. Ensure that it is downloaded directly from the official site.Â

Then switch on to Windows XP SP2 Compatibility mode

 Now, try by installing the Thunderbird.Â
If the mentioned steps are followed, it should work fine.
