My XBox 360 turns on and off

Hi,

I was wondering my XBOX was turning off and on. When i turn it on after about a minute it freezes then shuts off then back on and it repeats that

I actually had the same problem. You see when it happened to me I had to put some fans on it. This is because the problem that you are having is your Xbox is overheating. Although the only to actually fix this problem is if you get into the Xbox and try to fix the fan. You can look up some YouTube videos to see how to get in the Xbox.

Hi,

There are three things that are causing the problem:

  1. Your Console is too hot (close to overheating).
  2. You have to turn on the AUTO OFF setting.
  3. There’s a problem with your power supply.

Now, Check if the AUTO off setting is on and turn it off. Close the console and let it off for at least 10 minutes then turn it on. If the problem continues, let the console cool down turning it for about 1 hour. Just make sure that the console is cool before turning it on again.

If the problem still persists, then it's time to check the power supply. Check the light, if it is solid green or orange, then the power supply is okay.

If the light is flashing orange or solid red, it indicates that you that you need to replace your power supply.
