ADD NEW PRINTER ERROR (FirewallD is not running)

I have encountered this error while trying to add a new printer.

Error:

Add a New Printer
Local Network
FirewallD is not running. Network printer detection needs services mdns,ipp,ipp-client and samba-client enabled on firewall.

What should I do to deal with this error?

This is not ‘how to fix,’ this is a workaround.

WORKAROUND: As an alternative to the printer configuration tool from the new Gnome Shell control center, you can still use system-config-printer.

To open it, just press Alt+F2, type system-config-printer and press Enter.

Dear Leigh slayton,

Gnome printer interface still has some bugs. The problem you faced is because of one of the bugs.

To use the Printer interface that comes with Ubuntu, press Alt F2, and type in system-config-printer.

There is also an alternative method where you can Ditch gnome's GUI and revert to the CPU interface at http://localhost:631 and the click add printer to continue.
