My is not detecting my DVD Rom

Hello,

I have a HP Pavilion dv9000z laptop. I bought this 2 years ago. Now recently when I tried to install Windows on my Laptop I faced this problem.

The problem is my DVD drive is not found anywhere. I went to device manager and I saw that it is nowhere to be found. I then restarted it. At last  I found it but when I started to boot from it, I got the same problem again.

Is it my Windows problem or what?

Thanks!

Hi,

If your DVD Rom is not shown in your BIOS it might be a hardware related problem. But before coming to that conclusion, you should check the  following.

First of all, try resetting your BIOS to default settings. Then, remove any disk from the tray and restart the computer. Check if it is shown in your BIOS. Try restarting several times and check if it’s there. If it does not show up every time, it may be a connection or hardware fault. Try contacting your dealer for warranty services.

If it shows up every time, then boot into your already installed windows (if not any try using a Linux live USB key) and try a different disk into the drive. If they also show OK, then there might be a problem in the disk you are trying to boot into.

For anything else, contact your dealer.

Hello there,

I have also experienced the same problem.. I have checked all the bios settings and nothing helps.

Now I'm going to the dealer for the replacement for the product…

I forgot about the warranty period… Now Henry reminded about the warranty period…

Many thanks man!
