Hey there Experts,

I am having a huge problem with logging in to my office PC problem. I am getting this error after the login:

C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32AUTOEXEC.NT

The weird thing is, when I ask one of my office mates to login, he encounters no such thing as this.

Any ideas why? And, what shall I need to do to resolve this?

Thanks.

Hi Jennifer,

The error you're talking about usually occurs when a User tries to install or start a MS-DOS based 16 bit Windows Program on Windows XP.

The reason is that your system file "Autoexec.nt" is damaged or missing.
There are many solutions to this problem, I'll tell you the easiest ones.
First Solution (Use this if you're able to open your profile after login)
Enter the XP CD in the Disk Drive
Then, click Start –> Run.
Then enter X:i386autoexec.nt_ c:windowssystem32autoexec.nt.

X represents the disk drive letter.

Second Solution (Use this if you're not able to open your profile after login)

Here you have to Recover Windows through Windows recovery.

This is how to do it.
1. Insert XP disk in CD Rom
2. Boot through it and Press R on welcome Screen

3. Then Choose the partition to be Recovered

4. Enter the Admin Password
5. Then enter these commands one by one.
    C: CD ..
    C: ATTRIB -H C:\boot.ini
    C:ATTRIB -S C:\boot.ini
    C:ATRIB -R C:\boot.ini
    C: del boot.ini
    C: BOOTCFG /Rebuild
    C: CHKDSK /R /F
    C: FIXBOOT

Then Your done. No more windows Errors.
