Hello,

Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Home basic can run using minimum hardware requirement.

Windows 7 Starter does not support Aero User Interface, IIS web server or internet connection sharing.

Also Windows 7 Home basic does not support Aero User Interface, IIS web server or internet connection sharing. other than  that windows 7 x86 home basic version supports a maximum of 4GB RAM and X64 Version support maximum of 8GB RAM.

1.   1GHz 32bit or 64bit processor

2.   512MB RAM

3.   16GB- 20GB Hard disk drive

4.   32MB Graphic card which support DirectX 9

To run other Editions of windows 7 you should have

1.   1GB Of RAM

2.   40GB Hard disk space

3.   128MB Graphic card which is including windows display driver model driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 Hardware.

Hi Michal dj,

Windows 7 has many editions: starter, home basic, home premium, professional, enterprise, and ultimate.

Windows 7 Starter is the most limited edition. It does not support following features: Windows Aero UI, IIS Web server, BitLocker, Remote desktop host… And it has 32-bit only.

Windows 7 Home basic support Aero partially, and it does not support Windows media center. It has both 32-bit and 64-bit version.

In general, requirements for windows 7 are:

Windows 7 32-bit: 1GHz IA-32 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB HDD (free space), DirectX 9 graphic processor, DVD-ROM drive (optional)

Windows 7 64-bit: 1GHz x86 or x64 processor, 2GB RAM, 20GB HDD (free space), DirectX 9 graphic processor, DVD-ROM drive (optional)

Hope this helps
