Hi, if you have the issue ‘my computer won’t connect to the internet’, just follow the below steps. Check whether you have proper connection on Internet cables to your device, if everything was properly set then go to start button and open control panel and click on ‘Device manager’ and then go to ‘Network Adapters’ and click on the appropriate network and diagnose your connection and then open networking and sharing center to find the issue, and follow the guideline.
If you cannot connect to the internet, check how your computer connects to the internet. If your computer is connected to a router, check the network cable connected to your CPU. Unplug or disconnect the cable from the network port then connect it back. Open your web browser and try visiting a website. If you cannot display a single website, restart your router.
On your router, press on the power button to turn it off and then unplug it from the power outlet. If it doesn’t have a power button like mine, just unplug it from the power. After 10 to 20 seconds, plug it back to the power and turn the router on. See if you can browse a website now.
If you use a proxy, make sure the configuration is correct. Click “Start,” “Control Panel,” “Network and Internet Connections,” and then “Internet Options.” In “Internet Properties” dialog, select “Connections” tab and click “LAN settings” at the bottom.
In “Local Area Network (LAN) Settings” dialog, under “Proxy server” section, check “Use a proxy server for your LAN”. Set the configuration of your proxy then click “OK” all throughout when you are finished.
On the other hand, if you don’t use proxy, make sure this box is unchecked. If the problem continues, contact your Internet Service Provider for proper checking and assistance.
