Hello friend, now Iwould be explaining to you about what is a Socket Error 10060 in your system. It commonly appears when you are using alternate versions of windows OS on your computer. Do you know that this problem occurs when you try to connect through your web pages? It implies that your window is not able to make a conncetion to the ISP server in the time limit.

If you are facing this bug, then it is also a chance that you have a connection to a slow proxy service.

If you are referring to “Socket error = #10060,” it is a connection time-out error which normally happens when the client does not receive a response from the server for a particular command. This error is related to FTP or File Transfer Protocol. This error frequently happens when you try to connect in passive mode (PASV) to a server that prefers PORT for data connections.

Below is an example of an error log from “Socket error = #10060.”

COMMAND:> PASV
227 Entering Passive Mode (xxx,xx,xxx,xx,x,xxx).
COMMAND:> LIST
STATUS:> Connecting ftp data socket xxx.xx.xxx.xx:xxxx...
ERROR:> Can't connect to remote server. Socket error = #10060.
ERROR:> Failed to establish data socket.

If your FTP program triggered “Socket error = #10060” and the error log looks similar to the one above, change your “Data Connection Type” to “PORT” or “Use PORT” or something similar. See if this fixes the problem.

If this doesn’t work and you still receive error 10060, another possible cause is the server trying to send a listing for an extremely huge directory causing the client to time-out while waiting. To work around it, try increasing the time-out value in your FTP program say 45 or 60 seconds.
