I was just wondering about what is pop3 imap exchange. Every time I try to read about it, I fail to understand the same.
Is there anyone who can help me?
POP3
When a person uses POP3 (i.e. Post Office Protocol, v3), then it downloads all the messages from the mailserver and saves them locally. Your Email is only executable from one system and Incoming Mail is not available any longer when using WebMail.
IMAP
When a person uses IMAP, it stores the inbox on the mailserver whereas the Sent messages are still present locally.
MS Exchange
This protocol was introduced by Microsoft and is compulsory. All the Email is on the central Exchange mailserver, where one can check them using a capable mail client.
