I purchased a new laptop, and it is showing a disc read error occurred whenever I am trying to insert the disc into it. Please help me to fix this issue, thanks in advance.
Sometimes the new laptops did not come up with the windows installation disc and hence shows a disc read error occurred. Try to run your disk in another laptop to know the exact problem and change the cables also. If you have added more RAM space to your laptop make sure to assign some space to the disc drive and if you haven’t then download essential recovery software which will diagnose the error and fix it automatically and it will let you know if your hard disk is failed. Download the ISO image of CD or DVD and burn it, this will fix the error.
At first, I thought the problem was with the hard drive. But since the problem is with an optical disc like CD or DVD, check the data surface of the disc for scratches. If the surface of the disc contains scratches, your optical drive may have a problem reading it. If you have other discs, try inserting them and see if the same thing happens.
If your other disc also can’t be read, try cleaning the lens of your optical drive. You can use the lens cleaner from your DVD player. Or just buy from online stores like this one, Allsop Ultra ProLens Cleaner for $7.64 and Maxell DVD Lens Cleaner for $6.48 on Amazon.
If the laptop is new, there should be no major problem with the optical drive in terms of operation and functionality.
