I was just wondering about what is microsoft dynamics. Every time I try to read about it, I fail to understand the same.

Microsoft Dynamics is a single line of enterprise resource planning and customer relation management applications. The applications in Microsoft Dynamics have their delivery via a network of reselling partners who provide various services. Very few installations happen with no aid of third-party resellers. In its update of the year 2013, Microsoft deleted the ability of people to access several features like report writing without the assistance of Microsoft’s members in its approved reseller network.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a software package designed for customer relationship management developed by Microsoft. It focuses mainly on sales, marketing, and service sectors or help desk. It is a server-client application. Like Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM is mainly an IIS-based web application which supports wide-range web services interfaces.
Clients can access Dynamics CRM either with the use of a web browser or using a thick client plug-in to Microsoft Office Outlook. Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome are fully supported since Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Update Rollup 12. The latest version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM is Microsoft Dynamics 365. It currently has more than 40,000 customers.
Microsoft Dynamics 365, on the other hand, is a cloud-based business applications platform. It combines components of CRM or customer relationship management and ERP or enterprise resource planning together with productivity applications and AI or artificial intelligence tools. It was launched in 2016 when Microsoft combined Dynamics AX (the ERP application) with its Dynamics CRM application.
Microsoft was one of the first major vendors who combined the capabilities of CRM and ERP natively.
