I am using a Laptop Compaq Presario C700. Some of My Laptop Keys are not functioned That is some keys resulting incorrect character. I am using Windows XP OS.

This problem may also happen because of incomplete or corrupted installation of your keyboard settings. As an alternative temporary solution- you may buy a USB keyboard and connect it to your laptop and use it. You are recommended to visit the HP Service Center available in your area or take your laptop to the retailer from whom you have purchased the laptop to fix or change this matter. the problem may be the key distribution of the keyboard, example: "Latin America, Russian, international Spain, United states". All have a different key distribution, you must change this setting in the control panel and regional settings.

It usually happens when something spills on the keyboard. It causes when we try to type one character, it produces random characters or the characters produce directly above or below them.
Clean your keyboard with dry paintbrush, so you can easily remove anything stuck under the keys.
After clean the keyboard, now you take a check on keyboard. Type the keys on laptop. If the keys are typed in normal the problem solved otherwise if the key types wrong letter then you have replaced your keyboard.
If you cannot get keyboard properly then you can use wired/wireless keyboard or on-screen keyboard.
