ITunes installation on Windows error message

Hello everyone, it’s been a few days now since I gave up trying to install iTunes on my PC and now I’m trying to get help on this error message that pops-up after the process is supposedly finished:

“iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 998)”

I’m sure it’s not a corrupted file but I have no idea why I’m failing to install it properly.

Thanks for the help.

Try updating your operating system first before installing the iTunes software. Or you can download a lower version of iTunes then run the installer in the computer.

Why update operating system?

There are software that requires your operating system first to update before it can be installed. You are using windows 7 so it probably isn't the latest or yet it is a fresh installed windows 7. There are still some missing plugins and updating it will solve it to install other software.

Download lower version?

This is pretty optional but it does work sometimes. There is no harm in trying so do it now.
