You should tell about this to your printer, I help out you regarding this problem. I believe this thing depends on your printer which you bought from the market.

Several printers have a dual option they have a parallel port as well as USB port which facilitate the customer to select the connection according to his/her desire.

A lot of printers also facilitate to the users to keep both the Parallel and USB connections linked at a time. If your printer has a parallel port then buy and a parallel cable from the printer manufacturer or local retailers.

First of all link the printer via a parallel cable to your computer and then go to the properties of the printer and change it to “LPT” port.  If you are the user of MICROSOFT WINDOW then you can adjust the setting from the control panel to the “printers” icon.

Thanks

There are parallel to USB adapters available for use with parallel port printers but there are no adapter that work the other way around, that is, a USB to parallel port adapter. That said, it won' be possible for your USB printer to connect to your computer's parallel port.

If you are missing USB ports or if you don't have any more free USB ports for your printer to connect to, you might as well just buy a USB hub which would allow you to connect more USB devices to your computer since this provides you with additional USB ports that you can use. You should be able to purchase one from your local computer shops or online.
