Hallo!

I have several tasks that I would like to run on my computer and it is an everyday routine. At times, due to commitments, I realize that it is not possible to carry out the tasks manually. Some of the tasks that I would like to schedule are registry cleaning and backups with notifications sent to an email address. Is there an environment where computer program schedules such tasks and they are automatically executed at a predetermined time? Thanks.

Hi Helenmarmstead,

Good news! Yes, there is a program that Microsoft developed specifically for you to be able to schedule daily tasks that you do on the computer accordingly. This administrative tool of Microsoft is very helpful for you since you have been using a specific program in routine basis. This is called the Task Scheduler. It will help you avoid the risk of forgetting a task that you need to do on your personal computer. Please note that you need to log on as an administrator to be able to perform these steps.

You can open the Task Scheduler by clicking on the START button.
Choose CONTROL PANEL, then SYSTEM AND SECURITY.
Select ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS and there you will get the TASK SCHEDULER.
When the Task Scheduler is up, click on ACTION and then select CREATE BASIC TASK.
Rename the task and put a description, then hit NEXT.

On Task Scheduler, you can select a calendar based schedule, common recurring events or specific events. Select whichever you prefer and then click on NEXT.

If you would like a program to start automatically, click on the START A PROGRAM and hit NEXT.
When you click on BROWSE to find the application or program that you want and then click NEXT.
Click FINISH.

I hope this information helps you.
