Hi techyv.com,
I got the original iPad and I had it for 6 months now. Does anybody got an idea if it is true that iOS 6 will dump support for original iPad? Does this mean I can't upgrade my iPad OS anymore?
iPad and iOS 6 support issues
Hi there!Â
If you check apples’s official website:
You can see the fine lines stating that not all features are present or can be made available on all devices such as:
-
In Maps, the flyover feature as well as the turn by turn navigation is only available on the iPhone 4S or later versions and iPad 2 or later versions.
-
Siri’s availability is good only for iPhone 4S or later versions and the 3Rd Generation iPad.
-
Shared Photo Streams feature is available on iPhone 4 or later versions and iPad 2 or later.
-
Facetime utilizing cellular network can only work on iPhone 4S or later or the 3rd Generation iPad.
Too bad, the new features of IOS 6 cannot be supported by the original iPad because the A5 chip was not introduced until iPad 2.
