Hi!

I need your professional feedback about my plan. I am using Windows 8 now. I am planning to install older versions of Adobe Photoshop. Can you give me information about this? Is it possible with my platform? Can you give me instructions on how to do this with Windows 8? Can you tell me what the required software are and plugins that I need to download so I can make it work? What are the possible problems that I might face if I will do this?

Thank you!

Hello,

Adobe Photoshop is one of the best photo editing tool over the world. There are many version of it, and the latest version is Photoshop CC. If you intend to install any old version of Photoshop, you have to make sure that the version supports Windows 8.

System requirements for all Adobe Photoshop versions are listed in this Adobe Help.

According to this page, Photoshop CC 2014, Photoshop CC and Photoshop CS6 is completely compatible with Windows 8 as it’s one of their system requirements.

The older versions like Photoshop CS5, Photoshop CS4 etc. requires Windows XP or Vista. Those can be run on Windows 8 but as it’s totally different than older version of Windows, they might make problem.

If possible, get Photoshop CC or CS6 as you’re on Windows 8. Other older version aren’t recommended and aren’t recommended as they might be unstable on your system. They might crash or won't start or make problem with your system and make any serious issue and so, they're strongly not recommended to run.
