Inconvenience experienced in Microsoft PowerPoint

I was doing a presentation using PowerPoint, midway with it, I met an error stating:

Microsoft Office Power Point has encountered a problem and needs to close.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The information you were working on might be lost. Microsoft Office Power Point can try to recover it for you.

Error appeared with every scenario even with inserting pictures. It made me frustrated. I already restarted my computer and booted again my Windows Home. But still same error showed up. Please help me.

The error message: “Microsoft PowerPoint has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience” will pull up on either of the following situations:

  • You are trying to export an image larger than 500×500 pixels.
  • You are using the Save as Picture option to export a file.
  • You’re editing the file before exporting it.
The following can also be done to see what exactly is causing such error to pop up.
  • Open your PowerPoint then pull up a New Blank presentation.
  • Go to Insert Slides and just insert maybe the first half of the presentation you were doing before you get the error.
  • Then save it using a different file name.
  • Try closing your PowerPoint and see if you’re getting the same error.
  • If yes, then there’s a certain slide that's causing the problem with the first half of the presentation, you need to manually check it by repeating the steps of inserting slides to identify the slide causing the error.
Another thing you need to check are the Add-ins you have. Check out this link.
You can disable them one by one to see which one is causing the error.

Hope this works for you.

I got the same problem as you sometimes, when my presentation was so big and had a lot of pictures or videos.

i think the key problem is that you used too much the shortcut key of copy and paste. Try to use the insert button in the toolbar when you want to insert a picture or a video.

What's more, do not change the color or the size of your words so frequently. It cannot work out within a few seconds if your file is too big and try to save your file every five minutes. I know it will be very boring, but it's indeed a good way to save your files.

Hope you can find a good solution and from my experience, this kind of problem will not last too long. Just one or two days if you use this software too much.
