What is the importance of Need to Know Principle in the protection of the system? Is there a need that all network users should adhere to this principle? Why? What are some consequences if ever users will not adopt or adhere to this principle? Please explain it in details, thank you.

Importance of Need to Know Principle in the protection of the system?

Hallo Alona,

Protection of a system in a network is of great importance and therefore all users should be able to know about the system protection principle. This is because when you are on a network, you are exchanging and sharing information with some people you do not know and you have no idea what their intentions might be.

Some people may have intentions of breaking into your system and stealing your information or even corrupting the information. Others may be having intentions of transmitting malware and viruses that crush your system and bring your organization down. So users of a network should be having the know-how of protecting themselves from search network threats and many more others.
