I downloaded Fallout 76 couple of weeks ago and playing it regularly. But just last night while playing it for about half an hour, the game stopped and displayed the message “An unknown error has occurred. [1:1 0]”. I started the game again but it keeps quitting. Need help how to fix it.

If you are playing the game and suddenly it stopped giving you this message “An Unknown Error Has Occurred. [1:1 0]”, normally, closing the game and starting it again should fix the problem. If this doesn’t work, one possible cause is that you are using a variable or dynamic IP address. It is not recommended to play Fallout 76 on a dynamic IP address.

With a dynamic IP address, your IP address constantly changes every few minutes. When this happens, the game will either time out or kick you back to login the next time you hit a load screen like when changing zones or logging in to a character. Since having a dynamic IP address is controlled by your ISP or Internet Service Provider, there’s not much you can do.

Try setting a static IP address on your network adapter. Click “Start”, “Control Panel”, “Network and Sharing Center” then select “Change adapter settings” on the left pane. On the next screen, right-click your connection and select “Properties”. On the next screen, select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” then click “Properties”.

On the next screen, in “General” tab, select “Use the following IP address” then enter without quotes “192.168.0.1” as the IP address and “255.255.255.0” as the Subnet mask. Leave the other details blank then click “OK”. After this, restart your computer.
