I purchased a code for Fallout 76 from an authorized retailer but when I got home and entered the code, I receive an “Invalid Code” message. I don’t have any other code besides this and I don’t want to purchase another code just to play the game. Need help how to fix this.

“Invalid Code” When Redeeming A Code For Fallout 76

When you need to redeem a code from Bethesda.net, you need to enter the code exactly how it appears just like when entering a license key or registration key for an application which was sent to you via email. To redeem a code in Bethesda.net, you need to log in to the account where you want to use the code.

Now, when entering the code, you need to include the dashes (-) in between the numbers. The code will not be valid unless the dashes between the numbers and letter segments are included. For example:

  • 1ABC-2DEF-3GHI-4JKL

If you enter the code like this without quotes “1ABC2DEF3GHI4JKL” removing the dashes, this is wrong and will not be accepted. This will trigger the code invalid and you will receive the message “Invalid Code”. Another reason why the code is invalid is that if the code is not valid for the region. This can happen if you are using a VPN when redeeming the code.

To fix the problem, disable your VPN and try again. If this doesn’t work, contact the store where you purchased it. You may also receive the error when the code has been redeemed before. To verify if the code has been entered before, log in to your Bethesda.net account then go to “Transaction History”.
