I need tips measuring surface area in Maya

I would like to measure a surface area in m2 of a 3D model that I'm making. 

I can't find it in the options menu and all I see are Distance, Parameter and Arc Tool. 

Do I need to install a plug-in for measuring surface area in Maya? 

I use Maya 6.5 on Windows XP 32 bit.

I need tips measuring surface area in Maya

Hello there Laki,

Measuring tool for finding the surface area in Maya is not available directly but is available as a plugin.

Follow the below steps to download the plugin and use it to solve your problem.

• Go to the Plugins manager in Maya. Window > Preferences/settings > Plugin Manager.
• Keep going down the list until you find "Measure Bundle". Install it as a plugin.
• Now, you can access the plugin at Create > measure Tools > Surface.
