I need a little clarification on website URLs

I need a little clarification on website URLs. If a search is done to find my website, let’s say www.mysite.com, when they find mysite, are they view it as, www.mysite.com/Default.aspx? Is it possible then for me to replace “Default.aspx” with words that relate more to my site? For example: www.mysite.com/makeup.aspx so that the page content, meta data and URL relating to makeup will be cached by google.

Please confirm if this is possible. Thanks.

That will not be possible when the site has been hosted. If you need to change your url to another name, then you will have to change that in the code that you are using to make the website and then  upload those details to the remote server, whereby the url can now be accessible anywhere.

But just changing the url in the browser manually to another name will not work. Not unless you have a page that has the name that you have indicated and you want to browse that page, then it will be possible to access it by changing the url as you have indicated, but then you have to sure that you are typing the url correctly for it to work.
