Hello fellow Techyv members.  I'm not familiar with Lync so please bear with me.  I have just integrated my Outlook 2010 with Lync.  I'm trying to create a personalized signature phone number in Outlook, but Lync is not showing my online status.  Can someone help me with Outlook signature Lync status?

Hi Donna,

Upon reading your question it seems to me that you want to:

  1. Setup Signature in your Outlook. (Which is already done, right?)
  2. Your Lync doesn’t seem to sign you in? (This is a big guess.)

With item 2 if your Lync does not connect then you may follow the steps below.

  1. You have to ask your co-employees or your IT person if you need a proxy enabled to make Lync work. If you have a co-employee whose LYNC is working then you can ask him if there is a proxy enabled from his computer. This is how you check. Open IE > Go to Tools > Internet Options > Look for “Connections” tab > Click “LAN Settings”. See Image below:

2. If there is a proxy then copy the settings and apply it to yours. Else, leave setting to “Automatically Detect settings”.

3. Next is to restart “Microsoft Online Services Sign in Assistant” from Services page. Click Start button in your computer > From the search box type “services.msc” > Press Enter. From the window that will pop-up look for “Microsoft Online Services Sign in Assistant”, double click then Click Stop wait 10 seconds then click Start.

4. Re-launch your Lync.

Note: Steps above should be performed while Lync is close. See image below to know how to completely exit out of LYNC.

Right Click the icon on the System Tray.
