HP Deskjet 3050 Driver Missing

I have just purchased a HP Deskjet 3050 printer and I am unable to have it work. I have run the CD that came with it in my laptop, followed all the guided procedure of installation but still it has failed to detect. When I check on the installed device drivers, there's a yellow error message shown on my printer's port to mean the driver has not yet been installed in my computer. The driver might not be missing since I have even gone ahead to open the files in the CD, identified the driver installation file and run it yet this can't fix the issue. Restarting also has failed to correct the issue? What could be the matter? Was I handed a wrong driver CD for my HP Deskjet 3050 printer? Please any advice is welcome.
