Hello experts,

How can I view or read the Sybase log file view or is there a program that can open these log files? I really don't have an idea about this. Can you give me a step by step process?

Thanks a lot.

For viewing the Sybase log file you can try the following combination cd $SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/install or the error log will display to you the path of log file. You can always view the serving log with the help of command line using a test editor or any third – party log viewing tool.

Hello Elija Hale Jandroo ,

Hope that my message finds you well.

I think that Sybase not supply a utility to read/view the log file. I heard that they sell a product “Log Analyzer” for this case and I am not sure if they still do. Also I heard that there is an option in Sybase Central called “Translate log file” which will show the info and convert it to SQL statement.

Also you can use the command line as the following:

  • Cd
  • $SYBASE/
  • $SYBASE_ASE/
  • Install

Hope this solution will help.

Kind regards,
