Try out these methods to solve the 0x8000ffff catastrophic failure Windows 10 problem.

Method 1- Use the Administrator account.

a. Click on the start button.

b. You will find either a picture or a user icon here.
c. Click on it.
d. Click on Sign out.
e. Now, sign in with an Administrator account to restore to a previous time.
f. If you want to find out whether the account is the administrator or not, just click on that icon and open your account. You will find the details.

Method 2- Perform a clean boot

Method 1 – Clean Boot
a. Press Windows + R.
b. In the Run dialogue box, type MSConfig and click OK.

c. Match the settings with the picture above under the General tab.
d. Go to the Services tab.

e. Click on Hide all Microsoft services.
f. Click on Disable all.
